Design Projects

This section features custom miscellaneous design projects created for various opportunities. Each project represents a unique collaboration, showcasing my creativity and attention to detail, from invitations, social media interfaces, to other design requests such as slogan prototypes.

Social Media Interface Design: BrightHorizonAdvocates

The purpose of my Instagram feed is to bring awareness and information regarding immigration issues with Mexican children. Specifically the issue of children in courtrooms not given attorneys to fight for their right to stay in the U.S.

I decided to take the graphic design approach and draw my images to post. I used images I found online to draw my images from reference. The reason I think posting data and images hand drawn/designed helps is that people will feel more intrigued to look at the images instead of being intimidated by images that may look like from a news outlet. Some people prefer to not look at political information on social media so I think the drawing approach prevents intimidation/awkwardness.

In addition to Instagram, I was also given the task of creating a linear story on a website called twine!

Design Rebranding

Indian Currency Design Rebrand

Emphasize:

I researched Kolkata, India, to explore a country I knew little about. Interviewing a friend from Kolkata, I learned about its architectural buildings, food, colors, and mandalas. My prototype includes these details, highlighting elements like Hinduism, artistic henna, and city buildings.

Ideation:

For the front of the currency, I avoided basic designs and incorporated notable structures such as the religious figure Shiva, the blue public transportation bus, and Kolkata's illuminated white bridge.

For the back, I focused on natural landmarks and patterns, inspired by henna and floral designs prevalent in India. My sketches feature mandalas and the national flower, the lotus.

Art of Kindness Contest Submission

I chose the Reward System concept from neuroscience. The idea is that being kinder fuels your brain with dopamine. I focused on being kinder to myself, especially after the pandemic. Music greatly supported me during isolation, so I wanted to reflect on that.

In my piece, I combined and animated elements to show this. My primary focus is in black and white to represent sadness. Surrounding me are bright colors, vibrant lines, records, and music albums, showing how music brings happiness and dopamine into my life. Listening to music is my form of self-care and kindness, aligning with the Reward System.

Inspired by psychedelic art, I used watercolor and gouache paint to create layers and textures, aiming for a vivid, dream-like effect.

I used, Adobe Photoshop, Fresco, Illustrator and After Effects for my final product submission
